Brand New Day is a Dutch bank for investing, saving and, in particular, building up a supplementary pension. We want everyone to have their own pension. So that in the future you don't have to live on your AOW and possibly a scanty employer's pension alone. We distinguish ourselves with low costs and excellent service. We don't go crazy with our customers' money, but believe in index investing: slow money, that’s what makes you rich.
Boring? No way. The investment market is extremely large and competitive. It is a spearhead in the strategy of almost all banks and insurers. And that's where we as fintech like to meddle. Founded in 2010 by Kalo Bagijn and Thierry Schaap, the company now has 400,000 clients and over €8 billion under management. We have never been absorbed by a larger bank or insurer and we like to keep it that way. A large part of the shares are still in the hands of the founders and staff. That we have succeeded with a close-knit team in building such a great company is something we feel proud of. And we are far from where we want to be.
Brand New Day came about through old-fashioned entrepreneurship, and that spirit is still very much alive at our headquarters in Amsterdam. We believe in our product. We see opportunities and few threats. We don't care about politics and hierarchical relationships. Decisions are made quickly and decisively here. If you are hired, you will quickly be given many responsibilities because we believe in our people. So there are plenty of opportunities for advancement.
Our way of working is transparent and informal. You can be who you are here. Young and old work side by side and you can wear the clothes you feel comfortable in. We are an online bank with one head office in Amsterdam Southeast. Easily accessible by bike from the city and from all over the country by car and public transport. You'll find us within walking distance of Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station and some departments literally look out on the Johan Cruijff ArenA (which is sometimes inconvenient for that one PSV fan in marketing). The building has a daycare for children and a guarded parking garage with charging facilities for both cars and bicycles.
Our office is sometimes a bit of a maze, but when there is cake (sometimes) or fruit (twice a week) everyone always knows where to find the kitchens. Lunch from a continent of your choice can be found in the nearby shopping center, which also has two supermarkets. Popping your home-made pasta in the microwave is also an option, and every Thursday we sit down together for an in-house lunch.
At the end of the working day on Thursdays there is also a (theme) drink and regularly we organize something more active. Of course, you don't have to participate in everything, as long as you don't miss our annual summer and winter parties.
